Uokoaji Regulated Non WDT Sacco is medium size Sacco based in Nairobi with membership of over 2,400 members spread across Kenya.
We intend to fill the position below;
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the day to day SACCO operations including; coordination and management of the Sacco activities and staff, timely preparation and submission of financial reports to facilitate effective decision making by stakeholders (Management, Board of Directors and members); ensuring sound financial/accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure prudent management; and control of financial resources.
The Chief Executive Officer will be expected to direct and control the Sacco’s operations by giving strategic guidance and direction to the team to ensure that the Sacco achieves its mission and objectives. He/she will also be expected to attend all Board of Directors meetings on an advisory capacity.
Key duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare and analyze on a regular basis the Sacco’s business plans, operational expenses and overall performance of the Sacco.
• Develop, review and implement policies and guidelines for the overall management of the Sacco.
• Manage, develop and maintain a high performance team by providing good leadership and effective supervision and guidance of staff members under his/her charge.
• Responsible for financial planning and budgeting for the Sacco, ensuring proper planning and forecasting of Sacco operations.
• Handling member’s queries effectively and effectively
• Responsible for supporting decision making through preparation, analysis and presentation of comprehensive, timely, reliable and compliant financial reports.
• Representing the SACCO in forums, business transactions and any other transaction authorized by the Board of Directors;
• Develops and executes a marketing plan
• Implementation of the Society’s Strategic plan, policies, business plans and board resolutions
• Ensure Financial strategy supports the achievement of cost savings and revenue targets
• Co-ordination of all SACCO activities to ensure optimum and efficient utilization of all SACCO assets and resources
• Ensure the SACCO is at all times compliant with all laws governing SACCOs
• Timely preparation and presentation of various progress reports to Board of Directors
• Manage cost and expenditure of the Sacco within the approved budget and advise on initiatives for optimization.
• Review and present policies to the Board for approval
• Review Sacco By-Laws from time to time
• Review and implement regulations, internal systems, structures, procedures and controls to improve the quality of service

Qualifications for the Chief Executive Officer Job
• A university degree in a finance related field, preferably B. Com / BBM (Finance / Accounting) from a recognized university
• Diploma in Co-operative Management
• CPA (K) or its equivalent.
• Full ICPAK Membership
• Must have at least 5 years work experience in Senior Management in a financial institution.
